Thankful for Those Who Show Up

This November, and everyday of the year, we are thankful for those who make CASA of Central Virginia’s work possible. Each person brings something different to our mission, and together they help children who have experience abuse or neglect know they have someone who is there for them.

To our advocates

Thank you for giving your time, attention, and heart to the children you serve. You visit, listen, ask questions, and learn what matters to each child you serve. You prepare court reports, communicate with those involved in a child’s life, and you keep showing up through uncertain times.

We know that much of what you do happens quietly. We want you to know that we see your commitment and we could not possibly do this work without you.

To our sidekicks

Thank you for giving your time and talents to help CASA in meaningful ways. Your willingness to lend a hand, support our events, and help behind the scenes helps make our work possible. We thank you for the energy and care you bring to CASA’s mission.

To our supporters

We thank every one of you who are donors, monthly supporters, sponsors, and grant funders for investing in the children we serve and ensuring they have the advocacy each of them deserve.

Your generosity is why we can recruit, train, and support CASA volunteers. Thank you for making this work possible.

To those who work alongside us

To our staff and board members, we are grateful for your dedication that helps guide and sustain CASA. To the judges, social workers, attorneys, educators, service providers, and community partners, we thank you for working to ensure children’s safety and well-being.

Your roles carry difficult responsibilities. We value the care, communication, and collaboration that help keep children’s needs at the center.

To the children we serve

We are grateful for each child and their own personalities, interests, relationships, hopes, and dreams. Getting to know them is a privilege and responsibility we never take lightly.

We are thankful for the opportunity to listen, build trust, and show up to ensure that every child’s voice is heard and to make sure they feel seen and valued. We also recognize the parents, relatives, foster parents, and caregivers who work to provide the safety and stability children need and deserve.

Our gratitude comes with a continued commitment to the children in our community who need an advocate to show up for them.

This November, we invite you to consider how you might show up. You can learn more about becoming a CASA, support our work with a donation, or share our mission with someone who may be ready to get involved.

To everyone who shows up for CASA of Central Virginia: thank you! Your time, generosity, and care matter greatly to this organization and the precious children we serve.
