Working With Incarcerated Parents in Cases

Presented by: Crawford Keenan (attorney), Lynchburg DSS, & Blue Ridge Regional Jail

Do you think of incarcerated parents in your cases as out of sight, out of mind? Not so fast! Case precedent does not allow us to write off parents simply for being incarcerated--learn what the legal & DSS policy requires, what participation they can have & should be offered during a case, and what services are available to them in jail. Plus, learn how you can facilitate their positive participation in a case, and what your engagement with incarcerated parents should look like.

CASA volunteers will earn in-service hours for this workshop. Light snacks will be provided. Please feel free to bring your dinner.
