Virginia DOE Presents: Functional Behavioral Assessments & Behavior Intervention Plans

This training is designed specifically for parents of students who may be struggling with behavioral issues in the school setting. Advocates and other community stakeholders who work with students experiencing behavior difficulties are also invited and encouraged to participate in this training.  This training will discuss tools and supports that parents and advocates can request from schools to better understand and support difficult behaviors in the school setting.

Hank Millward is currently employed by the Virginia Dept. of Education (VDOE) as the Director of the Office of Specialized Education Facilities and Family Engagement (SEFFE) in the Division of Special Education and Student Services (SESS). Prior to his new assignment, Mr. Millward served as the Associate Director for the Office of Dispute Resolution and Administration Services (ODRAS). Mr. Millward holds a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Old Dominion University and an Educational Specialist degree in School Administration from the University of Virginia. He is licensed to teach special education students with emotional disabilities (ED), intellectual disabilities (ID), and specific learning disabilities (SLD).
