CASA Self-Care Series
Welcome to the CASA Self-Care Series, an initiative dedicated to nurturing the well-being of our invaluable CASA volunteers. Throughout the year, we will host a variety of activities designed to promote mental, emotional, and physical health, ensuring you remain resilient and energized in your crucial role as child advocates.
Thank you to our 2024-2025 Self-Care Sponsor!
Group Walks
Join us for a refreshing group walk at various scenic locations. These walks provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers, enjoy nature, and boost your physical fitness. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk, all fitness levels are welcome. To sign up, join CASA’s Group Walk group on the GroupMe app.
Counseling Sessions
We understand that as CASA volunteers, you may experience secondary trauma due to the nature of your advocacy work. To support you further, we are pleased to announce a partnership with Empower Counseling. CASA volunteers may receive up to 6 free in-person or virtual sessions with a counselor at Empower Counseling. These sessions will offer a safe and confidential space to process your experiences, manage stress, and develop coping strategies. To access these vital services, call (434) 219-5621 and let them know you are a CASA volunteer.
Counseling session are generously donated through a partnership with Empower Counseling. Visit their website for more information.
Monthly Workshops and Activities
In addition to our group walks, we are excited to offer a series of monthly workshops and activities focused on diverse self-care practices. Each month, we will explore different themes such as mindfulness, yoga, creative expression, meditation, and more. Each session will be led by experts in their respective fields, providing you with valuable tools and practices to incorporate into your daily life. Our goal is to support you in your journey toward holistic well-being, empowering you to continue your advocacy work with renewed vigor and compassion. As we always say, “Put on your oxygen mask before helping others.”
Seating is limited at each event. Once we reach capacity, you can choose to be added to a waiting list. If a spot opens up, you will have an opportunity to claim that spot.
If you are unable to make the event after signing up, please let us know as soon as possible so we can open up your seat to someone else.
